Realme 7 5G review 2022

Another great affordable phone made by Realme

Challenger label Realme is back with the announcement of its first phone with 5G, the Realme 7 5G. Like all phones made by this company, Realme 7 5G review packs a lot of value at a meager price. With the announcement of the first 5G phone, Realme is hoping to make 5G available to more Australians, particularly those who have felt that the cost of a phone was beyond their budget.

The realme 7g comes loaded with amazing features for a mid-range phone. The way this is reflected in the user experience is an entirely different thing. We’ll show an in-depth realme 7 5g review and help you decide if it’s the perfect realme7 5g to choose.

Release date and price:

Realme 7 5g became available to UK retailers on the 27th of November in 2020, with a price that was PS 279 (around $370 or $505 AU). The current realme 7 5g price is 270$ USD. The realme 7 5g price in Malaysia is RM869.

pros:

  • Very nice quality screen – crisp and clear
  • Cameras provide a decent photographing experience
  • A good size and light weight to carry/use
  • Fast charging

cons:

  • Unlocking functions can be a bit uncertain
  • Temperamental auto-brightness
  • Scrolling was a bit jittery when scrolling between the two
  • The screen wasn’t as responsive to touch when you navigated in certain apps.

 Design and Build:

  • Quite hefty at 195g and 9.1mm thick
  • Appealing two-tone finish
  • Fast side-mounted fingerprint sensor

There’s no doubting the Realme 7 DNA within this phone’s design. It’s virtually identical in terms of size and weight to the original model, which means it’s a surprisingly large and heavy device, with nearly 200 grams. However, the camera module, which resembles dominos, is akin to that in the rear of the Realme 7 Pro. The material back is comfortable to hold and resistant to scratches (although Realme also throws a free case with the purchase to add some extra protection) and has the similar split reflective design found on the other two models of the 7 series. It also has an overall design that is more subtle as opposed to some of the other new offerings (like Realme’s Realme X50 5G).

realme7 5g prefers the thin side-mounted fingerprint sensors that, in this case, also function as the power button. It’s located on the right-hand side of the phone and has proven to be consistently responsive with an incredibly fast (albeit basic one-color) face unlock feature for those who prefer. Along both sides, there’s the power/lock button to the right (which also doubles as a sensitive fingerprint scanner), the volume rocker, the SIM/microSD tray to the left, and the second mic at the top. There’s a headphone port, primary microphone, USB Type C connector, and a mono speaker at the bottom. We’re particularly impressed by the realme 7 5g blue gradient on the right and left edges in terms of designs and fun details. It’s an attractive addition. realme 7 5g silver addition  is also available in the market for buyers.

Realme 7 5G Display Quality:

  • 6.5-inch, 1080 x 2400
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • LCD not AMOLED

The realme 7 pro lcd has a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS screen (2400 pixels by 1080 pixels 405ppi) with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 120 Hz frame rate. The bezels are thin all over except for the bottom chin, which (thankfully) isn’t huge. A punch hole on the left-hand corner of the top accommodates a selfie camera. The realme 7 pro lcd and its display is stunning -and especially for the price. The colors are vivid, the contrast is superb, and viewing angles are great, and it’s also adequate to be seen in the direct sunlight. However, we have one minor issue in realme 7 5g review, and it’s due to the Oleophobic coating. The screen is a magnet for fingerprints and is difficult to keep free of fingerprints. This isn’t something you’d want on anything other than the highest expensive smartphones these days.

Camera Quality:

  • 48MP Samsung S5KGM1ST sensor gets decent results
  • 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensor
  • 16MP selfie camera

In light of the awe-inspiring number of variations that make this Realme 7 5G apart from the traditional 4G model, one thing that is not changed is the camera configuration and,

as so, it has similar strengths as well drawbacks. You’ll find a 48Mp primary Samsung S5KGM1ST sensor on the back. It’s accompanied by an ultrawide 8Mp and two sensors of 2Mp that are dedicated to depth and macro (for photography in portraits) as well. The front-facing hole-punch sensor is also 16Mp.

It is possible to get stunning portraits and highlight photos that clearly distinguish your subject and background. The flash produces images that have balanced colors and plenty of details. Pictures taken in night and day mode appear different. If you over-sharpened your camera or use the zoom for any reason other than to tighten up an image a little to improve composition, your pictures are likely to be blurry. Videos that are recorded with rear cameras are much clear. Image stabilization makes your videos smooth, and your colors shine through with decent clarity. It is recommended to be careful not to take too many photographs and videos with the camera’s front.

There’s a 16MP f/2.1 selfie camera. On the other hand, it should perform the trick well. Video recording can be extended to decently wide 4K/30fps modes, 1080P/120fps modes, and options of 720p/240fps. Overall this realme 7g holds its own as a low-cost camera. However, if photography is important to you, you’ll find that you should consider the realme 7 5g as a better choice.

Battery life:

  • 5,000mAh battery
  • 30W Dart Charge

If we talk about the battery performance in the realme 7 5g review, the Realme 5G is an absolute winner. The 5000mAh battery will not stop and offers up to 9 hours of screen-on time per charge, even in the midst of a busy day. It’s obvious that the Density 800U is a great choice (7nm process that was developed); however, we only tested four-way LTE (not 5G). You’d think that increasing the refresh rate up to 120Hz could impact the battery’s lifespan a bit more. Most people won’t be able to use this phone for more than a day’s usage on one charge.

Filling it up is easy because of the thirty-watt Dart Charge (0-100 percent in 65 minutes) and an adapter charger included in the box. The capacitive fingerprint sensor is quick and reliable, and the haptics is much better than you would expect at this price.

Performance:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 800U
  • 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage
  • Realme UI over Android 10

This realme 5g runs Android 10 (with 11 planned for the coming months) with the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip. It’s not the prettiest gadget around. However, it performs as if it were. We can’t forget about gaming performance in realme 7 5g review which is excellent as well. PUBG is set on HD graphics with high frame rates by default and generally provides a smooth (if not glitch-free) gaming experience. The most intense 2D games, such as Dead Cells and Juicy Realm, are excellent, mainly when playing at the top settings. Likewise, unlocking your phone, whether by using your fingers or your thumb, is easy, and, in my experience, the 7’s tactile fingerprint scanner is superior to the in-screen fingerprint reader available within 7 Pro.

realme 75g’s generous 128GB of storage is enough to cover all your media and app requirements, although we’d be recommending caution about the new(ish) Low-Density 800 processor. We weren’t able to get Netflix to work on the phone, which suggests that the app support may not be as universal or as fast as it is with more common Qualcomm chips.Realme’s customized Realme UI isn’t a particularly unique approach to Android 10. However, just like its predecessor, the Vivo Y70, it benefits from simplicity.

The AUX dinosaurs will be pleased to learn that this realme7 5g model comes with a 3.5mm headphone port, meaning you’ll be able to stay connected to your phone in the near future. In terms of its speaker, the sound quality is quite good, thanks to the built-in Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. I admit to feeling a bit wasted as well as my poor-quality TikTok habit.

Realme 7 5g review summary:

I hope this realme 7 5g review was helpful for you.  Realme 75g is an excellent mid-range phone. It’s faster than models that cost twice as much, boasts a stunning display, and has a decent camera. Due to its reported 5G problem with draining batteries, I cannot be sure to suggest it solely on its being 5G enabled; however, it’s a competent all-rounder with otherwise excellent battery longevity.
